2. White Racism Summer Reading Group--E-Mail Us!

please email us (eslayma1 or sapt1) by 7 pm Monday if you want to participate so we can print out a packet for you!

White Racism and Anti-Racism Summer Reading Group

  • What is racism, white supremacy, anti-racism?
    * Is there such a thing as a white anti-racist?
    * What would effective white anti-racist action look like?

Would you like to start or keep thinking about these questions over this summer? Join the summer reading group sponsored by White Women Confronting Racism. We’ll be reading and discussing one article every two weeks throughout the summer. The reading group will be open to all who identify as white.

Want to be a part of it?
Come to Kohlberg Coffee Bar, Tuesday May 5th at 8 PM.
We’ll be handing out packets with articles and discussing the format.

Please email Erika (eslayma1) or Sarah (sapt1) with questions or any articles or other media you’d like us to include.

4. Bike for sale

I’m selling my bike, helmet, and lock for $100 (pn). I purchased it lightly used at the beginning of this year, but it was completely serviced and has worked as new this full year. I did not ride it much, so it’s still in excellent condition. If you don’t mind an 80s color theme, it’s a good deal.

6. DONATE YOUR OLD DIGITAL CAMERA!!!

Taller de paz is a project that will be conducted by swat students this coming summer in the the outskirts of Bogota, Colombia. The project will take on a summer camp format in which participants will learn the basics of digital photography and editing. They will use these skills to create a final project in the form of a digital story or some sort of photo portfolio. By providing these children with artistic mediums of digital technology and a safe space to use them, we hope to empower our participants to explore their environment in new ways and to have a voice to tell of what they find.
