Cookie Baking Class in Sharples Kitchen on December 10th. Mix dough, bake and decorate cut-out cookies in festive shapes for Winter Solstice, Hanukkah, Christmas etc.! Get a behind-the-scenes look at the Sharples pastry kitchen! Cookie class will be held on Wednesday, December 10th from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. No prior cooking experience required. You will get to keep all the cookies you bake. If interested, e-mail Linda McDougall (lmcdoug1) by Thursday, December 4th. Class is limited to 10 students. A lottery will be held in the event that more than 10 individuals sign up.

4. Sign up to volunteer with the Salvation Army on December 6th! (Saturdays of Service)
Join Saturdays of Service for an afternoon of bell ringing for the Salvation Army on December 6th (this coming Saturday!) from 1 to 3 PM.
This is a great way to get off campus, de-stress, and help out the local community!

7. Halcyon Awesome Swat Photo Contest!
It’s here again: your favorite photo project—now in contest form!
We’ll give you a disposable camera. You have one week to take as many pictures as possible. You get a set of prints and choose which ones you want to enter in a variety of judged categories (Best Swat Squirrel, anyone?). The winners’ pictures will be displayed in Parrish!!!

Looking for a free meal each Tuesday at 6 PM?
If so, come join Chester’s women’s resource center for “Tasty Tuesdays,” Healthy Choices: Food and Nutrition with Joan McMenamin. This workshop will explore the importance of health and nutrition. Attendees will get hands on experience with cooking and eating inexpensive and healthy food items.

12. Boren Awards for International Study
Boren Scholarship (NSEP—National Security Education Program) applications are now available for full academic year or semester programs. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics majors may also apply for summer programs of eight weeks or longer. NSEP award recipients must make a commitment to working in the federal government for a minimum of one year. Boren Scholarships allow U.S. undergraduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to US interests but underrespresented in study abroad.
