Bike Share Program Gains Support

Student Council is considering implementing a bike share program, where students could use community bikes to travel around campus and the surrounding area. Rachel Bell '10, StuCo president, said that there will be "bikes scattered all around campus, painted the same color, or with at least some type of logo so you know it's part of the bike-share program. It will be a grab and go program." More

Valentino Achak Deng, the Sudanese Lost Boy who collaborated with Dave Eggers to produce the 2006 National Book Critic’s Circle Award for Fiction Finalist, “What is the What,” spoke to a packed hall Monday night about his experiences in America and the foundation he has set up to renew Marial Bai, his hometown that was burned down in the Sudanese Civil War.     Representatives from over 22 universities and colleges attended a poster session that displayed the work of several campus civic engagement groups at the Lang Center for Civic and Social Responsibility this past Monday night. The event is part of a two-day Program Directors’ conference sponsored by Project Pericles, an organization founded by Eugene Lang ’38, to promote social awareness on college campuses. More

  • SusCom and Student Activists Meet to Coordinate Efforts, Work out Differences

    The first joint meeting of the Sustainability Committee and campus environmental activists opened last Monday, as student environmental organizations worked to patch over differences with the Committee and discuss ways to coordinate future sustainability efforts on campus. The meeting came at a moment of tension between student environmental groups and the Sustainability Committee, less than two weeks after members of Earthlust wrote a letter to President Chopp. More
