Last Saturday, Trio(Blue), a New York City-based jazz band, performed avant-garde jazz with opening musical acts by Ben Starr ’11 and a student jazz ensemble in a concert held in Bond Hall. Ivana Ng ’12 with the help from Jazz Ensemble Director, Drew Shanefield, organized the event. Approximately 120 people attended the event, both out of musical curiosity and out of support for their friends’ performances.

This semester's column, rather than following in the same vein as last semester, will instead explore specific issues of our collegiate environment that are of interest to me, and hopefully, to at least some of my readers. While I hope to provide thought-provoking material, my other obligations prevent me from promising that I will reply to posted comments. I am always willing to share a meal with any interested parties who wish to discuss further.

Today: Chance Rain. High of 42.
This is the last weather joke this editor will write this semester,
Tonight: Snow Likely. Low of 29.
Because, in about fourteen hours, I'll be on a plane to a place without much internet access.
Tomorrow: Snow Likely. High of 34.
And I have *how* many hundred pages to read about it before I get there?

Dinner: Chicken w/feta, basmati rice, garbanzo beaans & curry (v), noodle casserole w/broccoli & mushrooms, veggie blend, zucchini saute, Cajun Bar, ice cream bar
