A Word from the Gazette ...

As you can see in this email, we are starting to roll out a new athletics section. There are still some bugs we need to iron out, but please bear with us--we're working to add am archive of old games and slowly polishing off the interface to make it as useful as possible.

Pulitzer Prize Winner Junot Díaz Presents
Friday November 14, Junot Díaz, the Pulitzer Prize winning author of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, came to Swarthmore as a part of the Cooper Series to read a selection from his novel for a packed LPAC cinema.

Swatties wandering past McCabe or towards Willets may have noticed a new set of fences going up near the Arboretum offices this past week, marking the first phase of construction on the new Wister Greenhouse and Education Center.

Williams-Mystic's third and final field seminar took us to the Gulf Coast of Louisiana to experience the third major body of water that borders our fair continent. The Arctic Ocean is, sadly, not a part of our curriculum (not that I wouldn’t have pushed for an Arctic Field Seminar).

Lunch: chicken gumbo soup, potato leek soup (vgt), meatball sandwich, crinkle fries, vegan no-meat balls (v), pierogies (vgt), green beans, zucchini (vgt), mandarin chicken salad bar, cookies

Dinner: paella with chicken, sausage & shrimp, cornbread, vegan paella (v), chilean bean stew (vgt), peas & onions, baby carrots w/ dill, thai bar, ice cream bar
