The Daily Gazette is Swarthmore's only daily newspaper. The Gazette is sent out every work day to more than 2,500 people, making it the most highly circulated paper at Swarthmore College.

The paper was founded in 1996 by Sam Schulhofer-Wohl '98 with the goal of providing timely coverage of campus news and Garnet sports while maintaining complete independence from the administration and student government. The only possible way to achieve this goal was through the internet. We have retained the distinction of being a web-only institution, which has allowed us the ability to change and remain a cutting edge publication.

The Daily Gazette website is maintained using WordPress, an open-source Content Management System [CMS]. The theme was inspired by Nautica and Hemingway. The theme was created by Miles Skorpen in 2007. The theme will eventually be available under an open license and available here.
