The Temple, March 21, 1918
Regular meeting of the Book and Key Society called to order by Senior Praeces Reilly. The minutes of the preceding meeting were approved as read.
Senior Carhog discusses the table system. Further discussion of this point. Everyone in College seems dissatisfied with the present system and advisability of returning to the old fraternity system was discussed. Senior Donnelly announced that a joint meeting of the men’s and women’s table committees would be held shortly after Spring vacation to settle this matter. Senior Donnelly brought up the matter of changing the method of selection of assistant managers. Suggesting that an amendment be made to the constitution of the athletic association allowing the committee to choose as many men as the deem worthy of being manager.
Discussion on over organization. Sentiment is that although there are a number of organizations – to cut any of them out would be the wrong way to remedy the evil. Point system discussed. Its failure in other colleges does not warrant it being tried here.
New reuling of charging two dollars for examinations which have been missed was discussed. It’s unfairness is evident and is being brought before the Dean and the Absence Committee.
