SBC Report (February 14): Heavy Bags, Trips, and Food

Swarthmore Progressive Christians

SPC requested $1,800 for their annual Holy Cross Retreat.  Ten students will be attending the trip. The main expense is the registration fee. Subsequent costs include housing, meals, and program costs. An additional $100 was requested for gas money. The group was offered $950 by SBC and the offer was passed unanimously, with one member abstaining from voting.

Swat Kicks

Swat Kicks requested $307.95 for new kick boxing bags due to an increase in membership. The money will also cover the cost of cleaning supplies for the equipment.  The group has seen a consistent increase in membership with about 15 students training per class session. At present there are not enough bags and therefore many students have to wait before they can have a turn to practice. The funding will change this. Full funding was proposed and funding was passed unanimously with one member abstaining from voting.

Earth Lust

The group proposed $30 for food and funding was approved unanimously.

WICS

In lieu of the Femhacks Hackathon, WICS requested $20 for transportation costs as well as an additional $30 for pizza, $30 for future study breaks this semester and $30 for an upcoming Java Java event. The group was ultimately offered $10 for transportation and $45 for group supplies (pizza, study breaks and the Java Java event). The funding was passed unanimously.
