6 Most Beautiful and Fascinating Stock Photos We Use in the Slider (And What They Mean!)

You’ve looked at the slider images all year. Here’s a list of our favorites and what they mean!

1) People Gathered In a Room

Who knows if this is a Mountain Justice rally, a discussion on campus sustainability, or a lecture our photographers were unable to attend—whatever the case, these people are clearly building community through dialogue.

2) Parrish

Classic Parrish! Our oldest and most iconic campus building is so representative of so many different aspects of Swarthmore that this article could literally be about anything.

3) Sunset Parrish

It’s sunset, and Parrish looks sort of sad. Something bad probably happened. Maybe the administration changed a policy. Maybe a club only got partial funding from SBC.

4) Snowy Parrish

This picture usually indicates that there’s snow on the ground at press time. Remember how it there was snow for like five months last year? This slider pic sure got a lot of airtime then!

5) Amphitheater

 Collection Stock

Matching t-shirts? Check! Amphitheater? Check! Eighteen year olds? Check! This article is probably about Orientation Week! Or freshmen, or RAs, or something.

6) Bell Tower

Look, there’s a picture of a campus building…but it’s not Parrish?? Well, sometimes The DG likes to change it up! This slider pic was useful when there were articles about the bell tower repairs. But real talk, there’s usually not a lot of news about the bell tower, so this picture is rarely #onpoint these days.
