SBC Report: March 29

Model UN

The Model UN Club requested funding to travel to a Model UN Conference held at NYU, calling it one of the “premiere Model UN conferences in the country.” The group has attended in the past and is seeking funding for 7-8 delegates to attend this year’s conference.

Full funding was proposed and passed unanimously.

Salsa Club

The Salsa club requested funding for their biannual off-campus trip to a social dance in Philadelphia. Full funding was proposed and passed unanimously.

The Newman Club

The Newman Club requested funding to pay for food for the Easter Vigil. Full funding was proposed and passed unanimously.

Women’s Rugby

The Women’s Rugby team requested a transfer of funding from their transportation funds to registration funds. They have had a surplus of transport funds this year due to the unusually high numbers of home games and lack of tournament attendance. They requested the transfer in order to pay for other events, such as getting team members certified at a referee clinic and getting others coach certified. A full transfer of funds was proposed and passed unanimously.

Swarthmore Society of Engineers

The Swarthmore Society of Engineers requested funding to complete their yearly April Fool’s prank. The Society gave SBC a list of supplies they will need, and although funding typically isn’t given without two weeks notice, full funding was proposed and passed unanimously.
