Location: Sproul Observatory
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Sproul Observatory for the report of stolen camera equipment belonging to a staff member. The value of the equiptment is $2,370. The matter is under investigation.

Date: Wednesday, January 15
Time: 3:20 p.m.
Location: Roberts Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Roberts Residence Hall for the report from a Swarthmore Resident student in reference to suspicious activity in their room over winter break. The Dean’s office was notified. The matter is under investigation.

Time: 11:16 a.m.
Location: Dana Residence Hall
Synopsis: A Swarthmore Resident Student reported an unknown male who entered her room within Dana Residence Hall. The male stated he was from Public Safety and was responding to a call. The student told the officer she had not contacted Public Safety. The officer left the room and subsequently the student contacted Public Safety regarding this incident. The matter is under investigation.

Location: Worth Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety received a report from the Dean’s Office about reported items missing from a room within Worth Residence Hall. Matter under investigation.

Date: Friday, January 17
Time: 10:27 p.m.
Location: Mertz Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the exterior of Mertz Residence Hall for the report of an unknown individual. The individual was located by Swarthmore Police by the train station and was identified as a Swarthmore student.
Status: Cleared

 

Fire Alarm

Date: Saturday, January 18
Time: 10:41 p.m.
Location: Worth Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Worth Residence Hall. There was no smoke or fire. It was determined that the alarm was activated due to a faulty alarm. Facilities were notified.
Status: Cleared

 

Underage Drinking

Date: Sunday, January 19
Time: 01:13 a.m.
Location: Willets Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety, Swarthmore Police and Ambulance responded to Willets Residence Hall for the repoert of an intoxicated Swarthmore Resident Student. The student was evaluated and transported to the hospital. Swarthmore Police issued a citation for underage drinking.
Status: Cleared/Arrest

 

Panic Button Alert

Date: Sunday, January 19
Time: 1:10 p.m.
Location: Magill Walk
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a call from the Magill Walk Emergency Phone by an unidentified caller. Upon arrival the area was checked with negative results; however vandalism was discovered on the phone as well as the phone not being operational. The matter is under investigation.

Time: 10:53 p.m.
Location: Pittenger Residence Hall
Synopsis: A report was received via the online Clery Crime Reporting webpage from a student reporting the theft of a bag of quarters from the desk in the students dorm room over the winter break. The value is $10. The matter is under investigation.
