Location:  Wharton Residence Hall
Synopsis:  While on patrol, a college employee reported a fire hazard, students have left empty moving boxes in the hallways, within Wharton Residence Hall, during student move in.
Status: Cleared

 

Criminal Mischief

Date:  Monday, September 9
Time:  7:17-7:35 p.m.
Location:  Beardsley Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to the report of unknown individuals within Beardsley Hall. Upon arrival, the building was checked. The individuals were gone and there was a discharged fire extinguisher. The fire extinguisher was replaced. The matter is under investigation.

Location:  Wharton Residence Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety, Swarthmore Police Department and Ambulance responded to the report of an unconscious and injured student within Wharton Residence Hall.
Status: Cleared

Location:  Parrish Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to the report of a male resident student in need of medical assistance and was observed to be unconscious in Parrish Hall. The student was transported to Worth Health Center.

Location:  Alice Paul Residence Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety, Swarthmore Police Department and Ambulance responded to the report for medical assistance for a female resident student within Alice Paul Residence Hall. The student was transported to the hospital.

Location:  Kohlberg Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to the report of a male resident student in need of medical assistance and was observed to be unconscious in Kohlberg Hall. The student was transported to Worth Health Center.
Status: Cleared

 

Fire Hazard

Date:  Wednesday, September 11
Time: 4:51 p.m.
Location:  Hallowell Residence Hall
Synopsis:  While on patrol, Public Safety reported that a smoke detector and sprinkler head within a Hallowell Residence Hall room were covered with plastic bags and duct tape. Facilities was notified.
Status: Cleared

Location:  Bond Memorial-Academic
Synopsis:  Director Hill and Associate Director Gallagher met with the SMART and DART teams to discuss crime prevention and Clery CSA Information at Bond Hall.

Synopsis:  Director Hill, Associate Director Gallagher and Cpl. Forgacic attended a meeting at the Science Center with PA’s to discuss Clery CSA information.

Time:  11:19 a.m.
Location:  Swarthmore College Campus
Synopsis:  A staff member reported receiving information from a female resident student that she was being sexually harassed by a known male resident student.
Status: Investigation

 

Safety Hazard

Date:  Thursday, September 12
Time:  1:59-2:18 p.m.
Location:  Trotter Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to the report of a bicycle locked to a stairwell within Trotter Hall creating a safety hazard. The owner of the bicycle could not be located. The bicycle was repositioned to prevent the safety hazard.
Status: Cleared

Location:  Crum Meadow
Synopsis:  Public Safety and Swarthmore Police Department responded to an unknown individual at the Crum Meadow. The individual was identified and left campus without incident.

Time:  9:57 a.m.
Location:  Pittenger Residence Hall
Synopsis:  While on patrol, Public Safety observed fire safety hazards within Pittenger Residence Hall basement. The matter was referred to Residential Life and Environmental Health and Safety.

Time:  12:30-1:30 p.m.
Location:  Lang Center for Social Responsibility
Synopsis:  Director Hill attended a meeting at the Lang Center for Social Responsibility with SAM and DART members to discuss Clery CSA information.
Status: Cleared

 

Simple Assault (Not Aggravated)/Intoxication

Date:  Saturday, September 14-Sunday, September 15
Time:  11:54 p.m-12:29 a.m.
Location:  Magill Walk
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to the report of an intoxicated student and a possible assault. Upon arrival, it was determined that the resident male student was assaulted. The matter is under investigation.

Time:  10:33-10:50 p.m.
Location:  Parrish East Circle
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to Parrish East Circle for the report of a sick resident female student. Upon evaluation, the student was escorted by her friends back to her dorm.

Synopsis:  A student reported being in a physical altercation with known male resident student. Matter referred to Dean’s Office.

Synopsis:  While on patrol, Public Safety was notified of an unauthorized Swarthmore male resident student attending a Phi Psi party. The matter is under investigation.

Synopsis:  A female student spoke with Public Safety concerning the activity of a male student she observed outside of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity House. The matter is under investigation.
