Location: Hallowell Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the report of bicycles blocking an exit door in Hallowell Dorm. Photos were taken and a report was sent to appropriate departments.

Sexual Assault

Date: Monday, April 15
Time: 1:32 p.m.
Location: Delta Upsilon Fraternity House
Synopsis: A staff member reported that a female resident student notified her that an individual attempted to forcibly rape her sometime during her freshman year. No additional information about the date, time or location are known at this time.
Case Update 04/16/2013: Upon receiving additional information the incident occurred on October 29, 2011 at Delta Upsilon Fraternity House and the individual was described as a white male.

Medical Emergency

Time: 12:43 a.m.
Location: Dana Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Dana Residence Hall for a female resident student who was sick. Upon evaluation, it was determined the student should be transported to the hospital for further treatment.
Status: Cleared

 

Sexual Assault

Date: Tuesday, April 16
Time: 2:55 p.m.
Location: Swarthmore College Campus
Synopsis: A staff member reported that a female resident student reported that she was sexually assaulted. No additional information about the date, time or location of the incident is known at this time. Matter was referred to the Title IX Coordinator.

Fire Alarm

Date: Tuesday, April 16
Time: 5:41-6:06 p.m.
Location: Harvard Avenue
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to an alarm at 915 Harvard Avenue. Upon arrival, the property was searched and there was no sign of fire or smoke. The alarm would not reset. Facilities arrived and reset the alarm.
Status: Cleared

Date: Wednesday, April 17
Time: 8:44-10:12 p.m.
Location: Parrish Hall
Synopsis: Information received pertaining to a suspicious email that was received by a staff member. The message did not contain anything threatening or harassing. Report on file for future reference. At the time of this report no further action is required.
Status: Inactive

 

Burglary/Attempted Forcible Entry

Date: Wednesday, April 17
Time: 2:43-3:04 p.m.
Location: Bullpen Area
Synopsis: A staff member reported that the door to the barn was vandalized and someone possibly attempted to enter the area. The value of the damage is unknown at this time.
Status: Cleared

 

Sexual Assault

Date: Thursday, April 18
Time: 6:37 p.m.
Location: College Avenue
Synopsis: A staff member reported to the Title IX Coordinator that a student reported to her that they were involved in a sexual assault. No additional information is available at this time including date, time, location or names. Matter under investigation.

Simple Assault/Not Aggravated

Date: Thursday, April 18
Time: 9:51 p.m.
Location: Swarthmore College Campus
Synopsis: A staff member reported that a domestic dispute of a verbal and physical nature occurred between a male and female resident student. No additional information about the students, date, time, location or witnesses are available at this time. Matter under investigation.

Time: 10:07-10:36 p.m.
Location: Bond Lodges
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a sick female resident student. Upon evaluation, an ambulance was called to transport the student to Hospital.
Status: Cleared

 

Suspicious Odor

Date: Friday, April 19
Time: 2:03-2:12 a.m.
Location: Wharton Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Wharton Residence Hall for the report of a suspicious odor. Upon Public Safety’s arrival, the cause of the smell was unknown.
Status: Cleared

 

Disorderly Conduct

Date: Thursday, April 18
Time: 11:35 p.m.
Location: Intercultural Center
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the report of a student urinating in the IC area. Upon arrival, the student was gone and was not identified. Public Safety remained in the area until the party was over.
Status: Cleared

Location: Lamb Miller Field House
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the Lamb Miller Fieldhouse for the report of a person with a sword. The person was identified but gone upon the arrival of Public Safety.

Time: 6:44 p.m.
Location: Delta Upsilon Fraternity House
Synopsis: A report was received from a group of students that a female student was sexually assaulted by a known male resident student in September 2012.

Theft of Laptop

Date: Friday, April 19
Time: 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Location: Clothier Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Clothier Hall for the theft of a resident student’s backpack which contained a laptop. The value is $600.

Sexual Assault

Date: Saturday, April 20
Time: 8:57 a.m.
Location: College Avenue
Synopsis: At 8:57 a.m. Public Safety received an anonymous report online that a female resident student reported a sexual assault by a male resident student on campus. At this time, no additional information about the date, location or the individuals involved.

Time: 12:20-12:28 p.m.
Location: Willets Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Willets Residence Hall for the report of a fire alarm. The cause of the alarm was unattended cooking. The smoke was cleared and the alarm was reset.

Location: Sharples Dining Hall
Synopsis: A male resident student reported to Public Safety that his wallet was stolen from his coat pocket. The value is $110 and a debit and a credit card.

Time: 1:03-1:28 a.m.
Location: Wharton Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the report of two suspicious males at the exterior of Wharton Residence Hall. The area was checked and one of the persons was identified and then escorted off campus.
Status: Closed

 

Purchase/Consumption/Possession/Transportation of Liquid Malt Brew

Date: Sunday, April 21
Time: 12:51-1:13 a.m.
Location: Wharton Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the report of an intoxicated resident female student at Wharton Residence Hall. Upon evaluation, it was determined that the student should be transported to the hospital by ambulance. Student was cited for underage drinking.
Status: Cleared/Arrest

 

Medical Emergency – Intoxication

Date: Sunday, April 21
Time: 12:05-12:39 a.m.
Location: David Kemp Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to David Kemp Residence Hall for an intoxicated female resident student and then transported the student to Worth Health Center. Upon evaluation at Worth Health Center, it was determined that the student should be taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Location: Phi Psi Fraternity House
Synopsis: While on patrol, Public Safety observed a student throwing a piece of the temporary lighting installed outside of Phi Psi. Public Safety identified the student, who was also underage and intoxicated.
