Theft 

Date: Monday, November 19
Time: 4:31 p.m.
Location: Phi Si Fraternity House
Synopsis: A male student reported the theft of his coat while at a party on campus. The value of the coat is approximately $160. Report taken by Public Safety Officer.
Status: Inactive

 

Careless Driving 

Date: Tuesday, November 20
Time: 11:57 p.m.
Location: Whittier Place
Synopsis: A male was observed driving carelessly by a Public Safety Supervisor on campus. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as a student. The report was referred to the Dean’s Office.
Status: Dean’s Referral

 

Theft 

Date: Wednesday,  November 21
Time: 11:08 a.m.
Location: Science Center
Synopsis: A staff member reported the theft of a table from the lower level hallway between rooms L38 and L39. The value of the table is unknown at this time.
Status: Investigation

 

Aggravated Assault/Ethnic Intimidation 

Date: Thursday, November 22
Time: 4:43 p.m.
Location: Rome, Italy
Synopsis: A parent notified Public Safety that her son and one other male Swarthmore student who are currently studying abroad were assaulted and injured by several unknown individuals. The incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, November 21, while in Rome, Italy. It was later determined that a third male student was assaulted. The matter is under investigation by local authorities in Rome.
Status: Investigation

 

Fire Alarm 

Date: Sunday,  November 25
Time: 2:15 a.m.
Location: Mertz Residence Hall
Synopsis: A  fire alarm was received from within Mertz Residence Hall. The cause of the alarm was burnt food. There was no sign of fire. Public Safety responded and reset the alarm.
Status: Cleared

 

*Correction 11/27/12: The Swatter originally reported the cause of the fire alarm in Mertz was burnt fool. It was actually burnt food. We stand corrected.
