Police Blotter
Reports of thefts from autos were received from five (5) victims over the weekend. Three (3) occurred in Rutledge between 11PM Friday, 4/3/2009 and 9AM Saturday, 4/4/2009. These thefts occurred in the unit block of Linden Avenue, the 100 block of Rutledge Avenue and the 100 block of President Avenue. Taken were a $50 Best Buy gift card, an iPod, 2 XM radios and a pocket knife. Two (2) thefts took place in Swarthmore between 10PM Saturday, 4/4/2009 and 11AM Sunday, 4/5/2009, in the 500 block of School Lane and the 400 block of Drew Avenue. Ray Ban sunglasses and approximately $15 in change were stolen. In all cases the vehicles were unlocked. Reports were taken by Officer Stilwell, Sergeant Thomas and Chief Craig.
A South Carolina license tag was taken from a car parked in the Bond parking lot of Swarthmore College between 11PM, 4/3/2009 and 8:40PM, 4/4/2009. The tag was entered into NCIC. Sergeant Thomas took the report.
Swarthmore police are investigating a newer model bright red, possibly a Ford Escort with partial Michigan registration 22KNH operated by a white male, 40–50yrs old, white hair and balding. Wearing a white dress shirt and black dress slacks. Subject exposed himself to a pedestrian at Vassar Ave and Yale ave. Incident occurred 4/8/2009 at 1:25 p.m. Anyone with information should call 610–543-0123. If the vehicle is seen call 911.
