Public Safety and Police Crime Report
A resident of the 200 block of N. Princeton Avenue reported the roof of her car was scratched between 7:00 p.m., 2/10/2009 and 6:30 p.m., 2/11/2009. Officer Maginnis took the report.
February 12, 2009: Digital Camera stolen from room
A plastic jar containing approximately $100 in change was taken from the Swarthmore Public Library between 7:00 p.m., 2/11/2009 and 8:50 a.m., 2/12/2009. The jar was shaped like a bear and was called “Band-Aid Bear.” The money collected helped in the operation of the library. It was located at the circulation desk. Chief Craig took the report.
February 13, 2009: Theft of Ipod at Mullan Fitness Center
On 2/13/2009, shortly before midnight, a person parked their car on Waverly Terrace in Rutledge. Upon returning to the car at 10:00 a.m. on 2/14/2009 it was discovered all four tires had been slashed. Replacement value of the tires is unknown. Officer Hinckley took the report.
February 15, 2009 @ 12:19am: Under Age Drinking and Marijuana Possession
Officer Bardo responded to a call to assist Swarthmore College Public Safety at the DuPont parking lot on 2/15/2009 at 12:23 a.m. On arrival a public safety officer pointed out a suspicious, occupied vehicle. Upon approaching the car a strong odor of marijuana was detected. Subsequent investigation revealed the occupant in the driver’s seat had driven the car to that location. The operator failed several field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. An occupant of the car was cited for underage drinking.
