MEN'S TENNIS: Garnet Sew Up Playoff Berth The Garnet men's tennis team clinched its first-ever Centennial Conference Championship berth Saturday afternoon, rolling to a 9-0 win at Franklin & Marshall.

SOFTBALL: Garnet Strike Gold With Playoff Berth The Swarthmore softball team topped the 20-win mark and reached the Conference playoffs for the third consecutive year, splitting a pair of Centennial games with visiting Franklin & Marshall on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Clothier Fields.

WOMEN'S TENNIS: Garnet Sweep Doubles in Central PA Rachel Wallwork '10, Jennie Park '09, Erica Lukoski '08 and Kearney Bangs '10 were all double-winners as the Swarthmore women's tennis team (11-4, 9-1 CC) defeated Franklin & Marshall 7-2 in Centennial Conference action Saturday.

BASEBALL: Garnet Rally Falls Short Swarthmore sophomore Matt Corso drove in a career-high six runs and freshman Ben Schneiderman had a career day, going 4-for-6 with three runs scored and two stolen bases yet the Gettysburg Bullets (16-19, 8-8 CC) swept the Swarthmore Garnet (8-19, 2-14 CC) with scores of 12-1 and 17-16 in Centennial Conference baseball action on Saturday afternoon at Kirchhoff Field.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE: Muller Time On Main Line Swarthmore sophomore Abbe Muller scored the game winning goal in overtime to have the Garnet beat Haverford with final score 17-16 in Centennial Conference women's lacrosse action on a sunny Saturday afternoon at the Class of '88 Field.

MEN'S LACROSSE: #2 Bullets Ride Second Half to Victory Swarthmore's Tyler Bradshaw '10 scored two goals while senior Ivano Ventresca added a goal and an assist as the Garnet men's lacrosse team fell to #2 Gettysburg 13-5 on Saturday afternoon.

TRACK & FIELD: Garnet Duo Run Third Swarthmore junior Cait Mullarkey (800 meters) and sophomore Nyika Corbett (5,000 meters) finished third in their respective races at the Widener Open this past weekend.

The 8 Million Dollar Question

The Ad Hoc Financial Planning Group has been tasked with finding $8 million to cut from the annual budget. They have come up with a proposal for $6.85 million worth of cuts, and are currently seeking feedback from the community on their plan.
