Restaurant Review Roundup
Going into Philly isn't always successful. I've had some nights where I've stayed out past the last SEPTA train, forgot to sign up for the Philly shuttle, and then had to take a bus with the hookers to 69th St. station.
The same goes for restaurants: you win some, you lose some -- or more often then not, you can't find them! As an all points bulletin to our readers, if anyone can find Meskerem Ethiopian Restaurant I want to know. They have favorable online reviews, but each of the contradictory addresses I've tried so far has turned up nothing. Same goes for an Indonesian restaurant whose address turns up an empty shop. Well, with all the good dinners I've had, it's definitely worth trying again. And it's always better than Sharples!

I take offense at both your use of the word "hooker" and your condescending attitude towards those who take the 109 bus.

Anna and Nobody, I'm sorry you've mistaken my words for derision. I simply meant to convey that you know you've been out too late when you're catching the bus with women who've given up on getting a client that night. As for those who take the 109, that would be most of my friends as well as myself. If you still think I categorically devalue prostitutes, come talk to me about it.

Myles, I do think that your scorn of the 109 is unwarranted. Certainly I have met some sketchy characters on it, but I have found it an exceedingly useful line of public transportation. Without it, I would not be able to stay out late in the city or visit friends who live(d) along the pike. And it's certainly a lot cheaper than the regional rail - I've certainly taken it when there were other options avaliable because I didn't feel like shilling out the extra 3.70$ for a rail ticket. And certainly late at night - would you rather be stuck in the city and have to take a taxi back?
