W.SOCCER: Garnet, Dips Fit To Be Tied

LANCASTER, Pa. — The Swarthmore women’s soccer concluded the 2008 regular season with its 10th shutout of the season, fighting to a 0-0 double overtime tie at Franklin & Marshall Saturday morning. The Garnet secure the No. 3 seed and will take on Dickinson in the upcoming Centennial Conference playoffs, set to take place in Baltimore on November 8-9.

MEN’S SOCCER: #17 Swarthmore Caps Best Regular Season With Win Over Fords

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — The Garnet men’s soccer team needed just one goal, a header from senior forward Evan Nesterak, to top long-time rival Haverford,1-0, in front of a packed house at Clothier Field. Swarthmore claims its 14th victory (ninth consecutive) in the regular season, both school records.

VOLLEYBALL: Wang Breaks Another Record in Five-Setter with Diplomats

LANCASTER, Pa. — Garnet senior outside hitter Jen Wang closed her collegiate career on a high note, breaking the school kill record Saturday morning at Franklin & Marshall College. Resilient Swarthmore took the Diplomats to the limit, falling 3-2 (25-16, 15-25, 20-25, 25-16, 15-12) in Centennial volleyball action Saturday morning.

LANCASTER, Pa. — Swarthmore seniors Ashley Gunter and Natalie Stone scored goals in their final collegiate game as the Garnet field hockey dropped a 3-2 decision at Franklin & Marshall Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference play.

X-COUNTRY: Swarthmore Trotters Compete at CC Championships

GETTYSBURG, Pa. — The Garnet cross country teams traveled to central Pennsylvania to race in the 2008 Centennial Conference Cross Country Championships hosted by Gettysburg College on a warm November day. The women placed fourth as a team (led by Melissa Frick ’12 in 8th) while the men registered a seventh-place finish (led by Erik Saka ’09 in 24th place).
