SOFTBALL: Garnet Find Non-Conference A Bumpy Trail
The Swarthmore softball team, fresh off clinching a third consecutive Centennial playoff berth on Saturday afternoon, found little respite in its three-game break from Conference action.

BASEBALL: Garnet Pander to Youth, Fall at Knight
Swarthmore freshman hurlers Neil Mejia and Andy Allen combined for 13 strikeouts on the hill, but poor fielding doomed the Garnet baseball team (8-20) in a 7-0 loss to Rutgers-Camden in a non-conference game played on a warm Tuesday evening at picturesque Campbell’s Field, a minor-league park at the base of the Ben Franklin Bridge.

WOMEN’S TENNIS: Swarthmore Concedes Victory to #26 Lions
Swarthmore junior Jennie Park and sophomore Rachel Wallwork won at singles and doubles Tuesday afternoon as the Garnet (11-5) fell at 26th-ranked College of New Jersey in non-conference tennis action.

GOLF: Lazarus the Peoples’ Choice
Garnet sophomore Jeffrey Lazarus posted top-ten finish at the renowned Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational this past weekend in northeast Pennsylvania.

ATHLETICS: Eight Garnet Student-Athletes Endorsed By Philadelphia Inquirer
Swarthmore senior Ian McCormick was named Philadelphia Inquirer Men’s Basketball Academic Performer of the Year by the Philadelphia-Area Sports Information Directors Association (Philly-SIDA).

MEN’S BASKETBALL: McCormick Rubs Shoulders With Basketball Royalty
Garnet center Ian McCormick ’08 was among the honorees at the 63rd annual Herb Good Dinner Monday night, accepting an award for his selection to the 2008 John McAdams Small Colleges All-Star team that is handed out by the Philadelphia-Area Small College Coaches Association.
