Can you read Japanese? Here's the summer job for you! The library received a large gift of books from the estate of an alum which includes a large number of art books in Japanese. We need a student worker who has reading ability in Japanese to search the books in Tripod and other online sources, then notate the results of the searches. The job may also include searching in other areas of this gift collection.
Other duties in Technical Services may include shelving, processing or assisting in Interlibrary Loans.
Requirements: Fluency in reading Japanese (speaking ability not necessary), strong attention to detail, and familiarity with searching Tripod. Good penmanship a plus!
Time commitment: Needs to be able to work within a regular work-week schedule (Mon.-Fri., 9-5), but can work a part-time schedule if desired.
Pay rate: Level III (currently $8.56/hour) of the college student pay scale.
Please contact Jackie Magagnosc (jmagagn1) x7815 for an application if interested.
