WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Blue Jays Steal Win From Garnet BALTIMORE -- A battle among two of the best front-court duos in the Centennial developed as expected, yet it was the back court play that was the deciding factor in a 78-45 Johns Hopkins victory over Swarthmore in Centennial womenís basketball action Saturday afternoon at Goldfarb Gymnasium. Playing on the road for the first time this season, Swarthmore (2-3 overall, 1-1 CC) was led by freshman forward Kathryn Stockbower who collected her fourth double-double in five games, scoring a game-high 15 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Teammate Karen Berk í08 also tallied a double-double (the 34th of her career), posting 10 points and 11 rebounds while freshman wing Ceylan Bodurcontributed 11 points and six boards.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Ian Doubles Up, Jays Take Down Garnet BALTIMORE--Swarthmore (2-3, 0-2 CC) senior center Ian McCormick posted the 21st double-double of his career, yet cold shooting did in the Garnet men on Saturday afternoon, as Johns Hopkins (2-3 overall, 1-1 CC) cruised to a 73-59 victory in Centennial basketball action at Goldfarb Gymnasium. McCormick finished the afternoon with team-highs of 19 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks while classmate Steve Wolf added 11 points and seven rebounds.

SWIMMING: Swim Teams Compete in Central Pa LANCASTER, Pa. -- The Swarthmore swim teams are spending the weekend at Franklin & Marshall College, competing in a three-session, two-day event featuring some of Division III's top teams. After the first session the women are in fourth while the men are in sixth place out of nine competing teams. Anne Miller '10 claimed third in the 500 freestyle while senior Andrew Frampton claimed fourth in the same event on the men's side. The teams will swim tonight and then again tomorrow morning.
