Remember, Remember the Fifth of November...

fawkes2.jpg

On Monday, November 5th, a group of Swatties took part in the age old English tradition of burning Guy Fawkes in effigy in a bonfire. In the early hours of the morning of November 5th, 1605, Guy Fawkes was found in the cellar of the House of Lords with 36 barrels of gunpowder after a plan to blow up the Houses of Parliament - along with the King, Prince of Wales, and members of Parliament - was thwarted. Ever since, English citizens have annually celebrated "Bonfire Night" on Nov. 5th.
