"Boy Meets Tractor" to Perform This Friday

This Friday at 8:00 pm, Swarthmore’s illustrious sketch comedy group, Boy Meets Tractor, will be having a show in Science Center 101. As Madalyn Baldanzi ’08 noted in an email, “There’s really no way not to have fun at a Boy Meets Tractor show. If we’re funny, you’ll laugh. And laughing is good. If we’re really bad, I give anyone full permission to laugh at how bad we are. Laughing is still good, and so is schadenfreude.”

The show will feature both video sketches and live performance. All of Boy Meets Tractor’s videos, along with bios of the group members, are also available on the group’s website, boymeetstractor.com. “With a collaborative writing process, there’s enough different types of humor in our sketches that everyone will find something there that they will like,” said Baldanzi.

As a whole, the group expressed particular enthusiasm about their “newly-hired fight coordinator,” whose involvement, they believe, will “greatly improve” their show. After “put[ting] up another bid for the contract of Alex Rodriguez,” the comedians suffered a setback when “SBC did not approve the requisite funding,” but they are nonetheless excited to welcome “our new member Chevy Chase, our replacement for Joe Borkowski ’08, who will remain in Poland indefinitely.” Another reason for general satisfaction: “Our phonathon raised more than enough money for the tank we needed in the last sketch.”

All in all, the show promises to be a great success. Still need convincing? “I don’t want to make any false promises,” said Baldanzi, “but as far as special appearances go…well, I’ll just say two words: Sean and Connery.”
