MEN'S SOCCER: Garnet Wins First Ever ECAC Southern Division Championship

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore won their first ECAC Division III Southern Region Men's soccer Championship in a 3-2 thrilling overtime game against Frostburg State on Sunday afternoon at Clothier Field. Brendan Grady '08, Stu Leon '09 and Evan Nesterak '09 all scored one goal for the Garnet. Following the game senior captain Brendan Grady was awarded with the Most Outstanding Player award for his efforts during the championship game.

WOMEN'S SOCCER: Julia Wraps Up ECAC Sweep!

GROVE CITY, Pa. - Sophomore Julia Luongo put home the game-winner in the fifth shootout round and the Garnet took home the 2007 East Coast Athletic Conference South Region Championship. Cait Mullarkey '09 was named Most Outstanding Player of the tournament following the championship match.

Late Valentine's Day at the Symposium

Today, jackdaws and magpies, the sages have gathered, to talk about love. To talk about love cut through with time. Crippled with the burden of the clocks of our ancestors, we stagger around in the daytimes, and maybe post some chocolates to the dorm next door by the tilting-upward of the next due dawn. In short: we know that we need it. And we don't know how to get it. Or, more specifically—when we don't know just when the getting's good.
