CROSS COUNTRY: Jeuland Competes In Olympic Trials

NEW YORK – Swarthmore alum Marc Jeuland ’01 competed in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in New York City this past Saturday, Nov. 3. He completed the 26.2 mile course, concentrated in Central Park to simulate the 2008 Olympic track in Beijing, in 2:31:31 for 93rd place out of the 104 runners who finished. Jeuland qualified for the Trials last October with a time of 2:20:33 at the 2006 Chicago Marathon.

VOLLEYBALL: Heaney Named Academic All-District

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Swarthmore libero Erin Heaney ’09 has been selected to the 2007 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II College Division Volleyball third team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

MEN’S SOCCER: Garnet Men to Host ECAC Championship

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — For the second time in four seasons, the Swarthmore men’s soccer team will host the semifinals and the finals of the Division III ECAC Southern Region Tournament. The Garnet (12-3-3) take to the pitch in the first semifinal this Saturday, Nov. 10 at 1:00 p.m. against Westminster (11-6-3). The second semifinal features Frostburg State (11-8-1) and Penn State-Altoona (16-5), with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The championship match is set for 1:00 p.m., right here at Clothier Field.
