Appointments start this week, and so Council has created a list of everyone on student committees currently available in front of the Council board for prospective applicants.
Council discussed an Earthlust forum this upcoming Wednesday at 9 PM about signing the President’s Agreement on Carbon Neutrality. Unsure of their stance on the agreement, Council decided not to co-sponsor the forum, but agreed to be there as a resource.
Another upcoming forum has this reporter excited–on Tuesday the 6th at 7 PM, Treasurer Suzanne Welsh and President Al Bloom will be discussing the college’s finances with students, and are open to questions about budgeting, endowments, and financial aid.
Council also discussed internal Charter Committee procedures, an upcoming meeting about a proposed ethical purchasing committee, and brainstormed events that may happen next semester, including a potential CAPS forum.
Lastly, elections are coming up. Council plans to hold a meet-and-greet with current members from 6-8 on Sunday, November 18th and another from 7-9 on Tuesday, November 20th, with students needing to declare intent to run and submit platforms by Monday, November 26th.
