FIELD HOCKEY: Swat Picks Up Season-Ending Win
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore celebrated Senior Day by beating Franklin & Marshall 3-1 at Clothier Field on Saturday afternoon. Alex Gilbert-Bono '10 made her first two goals of the season. Devon Novotnak '11 scored off a rebound during the second half. The Swarthmore field hockey team concluded the 2007 season with a record of 6-11 overall, 3-7 CC.
VOLLEYBALL: Records Fall as Dips Top Garnet
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore volleyball closed off its 2007 season with a tough 3-2 loss to visiting Franklin & Marshall Saturday afternoon at Tarble Pavilion. Libero Erin Heaney '09 set a new season-standard for digs while outside hitter Jen Wang '09 tied the mark for kills in a season. The Garnet finish the season at 9-18, 4-6 CC.
WOMEN'S SOCCER:
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Kirsten Peterson '11 scored both goals for the Garnet (12-2-1, 7-2-1) during a Saturday afternoon home match against Franklin & Marshall (8-6-2, 5-5 CC). In the first half Peterson scored the game winner off a cross from classmate Hannah Purkey. Scoring her fourth goal of the season later in the day, Peterson bounced one over the Diplomat goalie to make the final score 2-0, Swarthmore.
CROSS COUNTRY: Swarthmore Takes 5th for Both Men and Women LANCASTER, Pa. - The Garnet cross country teams followed the pre-season predictions as both the men and women placed fifth at the Centennial Conference Championships hosted by Franklin & Marshall Saturday morning.
