Cross Country at Dickinson Long/Short Meet
Women’s Soccer: Fresh 3-0 Win
Bryn Mawr, Pa. – While travelling up the Main Line, the women’s soccer team (8-1-0, 4-1-0 CC) defeated Bryn Mawr 3-0. Freshman defender Sarah Reese notched her first collegiate goal of her career. The other Garnet goals were scored by freshman forwards Kelsey Cline and Megan Colombo.
Men’s Soccer: Garnet with Centennial Conference 2-1 Win
Collegeville, Pa. – The Garnet (7-2-3, 2-2-1 CC) came out on top with a 2-1 win during Centennial Conference match against Ursinus. Andrew Macurdy ’08 posted his first career goal with 2:41 on the clock. The game-winning goal came from Even Nesterak ’09 in the first two minutes of the second half.
Cross Country: The Short of It
Carlisle, Pa. – While running at the Dickinson Long/Short Meet, both the men’s and women’s teams finished sixth overall. Top three runners for the men’s team: Ross Weller ’08, Eric Saka ’09, Mickey Katz ’08. Top three runners for the women’s team: Ashley Davies ’10, Emma Stanley ’09 and Caitlin Russell ’11.
Field Hockey: Garnet fall to Red Devils
Swarthmore, Pa. – The Garnet (5-6 overally, 2-3 CC) fell behind 4-2 while hosting the Dickinson Red Devils on Saturday afternoon at Clothier Field. Joslyn Young ’10 put the Garnet on the board in he first half. Abbie Fischer
’08 scored her sixth goal of the season off a blast from Jordan Schmidt ’09 quick into the second half.
Volleyball: Digging For a Cure
Swarthmore, Pa. – The Swarthmore and Johns Hopkins volleyball teams celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness Month with their “Digging for a Cure” campaign. Erin Heaney ’09 posted 20 of the Garnet’s 67 digs. The Blue Jays defeated the Garnet 3-0.
