VOLLEYBALL: Garnet Split Weekend in E-Town

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Garnet middle hitter Karen Berk '08 had a season-high 12 kills with five blocks as Swarthmore (5-10) defeated Wilkes 3-0 on the first day of the Blue Jay Classic. The Garnet had fallen 3-0 to host Elizabethtown earlier in the day. Swarthmore endured a long Saturday, splitting a pair of five-set games in day two action--the Garnet fell 3-2 to St. Mary's (MD) in the morning and then out-lasted Neumann 3-2 in the afternoon.

MEN'S SOCCER: Swarthmore, Dickinson All Tied Up

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Garnet men's soccer team, ranked in a tie for seventh in the Middle Atlantic in the most recent NSCAA/adidas regional rankings, fought to a 0-0 draw after two overtimes at Dickinson (listed in a tie for fifth in the regional rankings) on Saturday afternoon. Garnet senior goalkeeper Ryan Sutcliffe posted his fourth shutout of the season, making five saves for Swarthmore (5-1-3, 0-1-1 CC).
