Student Council report and election results

The controversial election was good for voter turnout, with 953 students voting. The election for Educational Policy Representative resulted in a dead tie between Elisha Ann '08 and Andrew Quinton '08, and Council will be holding a run-off election for this position later this week. Full results are presented at the end of this report; there is a margin of error of three votes.

Council also discussed Movie Night, the run-off election, and this weekend's Board of Managers meeting. They also briefly discussed ways to reach out to the IC/BCC community next semester, including possibly an institutionalized form of communication.

Finally SBC came to present next year's budget, which was approved by Student Council. They distributed 419,996.07 dollars to student groups for 2007-2008, an increase over 410,003.09 in 2006-2007. SBC has also set aside approximately 50,000 dollars for supplemental allocations over the next year.
