According to Director of Public Safety Owen Redgrave, three Swarthmore students and one Haverford student received citations for underage drinking the night of Saturday the 24th. All four citations occurred during the Sager party, but it is unclear where the students were drinking. Redgrave said that “they may have been at the party, but that didn’t make the reports.”
The first incident occurred at 11:54 PM on Saturday the 24th, reported Redgrave, “the Tri-Co shuttle driver reported a problem with a Haverford student. When Public Safety arrived we questioned that person and Swarthmore police also arrived on the scene… they will receive a citation for underage drinking in the mail.”
The other three citations were all given to Swarthmore students who needed medical attention. An ambulance had to be called for each of the students, and Redgrave explained that “with the ambulance comes the police department.”
At 12:56 AM on Sunday the 25th, “one of our officers was on the Sharples driveway and slowed down when he saw two individuals carrying a semi-conscious student who needed medical attention.” An ambulance was called, and that student will also receive a citation in the mail.
At 1:29 AM, “a student ended up at Worth… their condition worsened and the health center asked us to send an ambulance.” Lastly, at 1:50 AM, “a student called saying a friend of theirs needed medical attention inside Wharton.” An ambulance was called, and both of these students also received citations.
