Housing lottery roundup: juniors

As was expected, a number of dorms closed during the rising junior housing lottery. Parrish closed first, followed by Worth, New Dorm, and Wharton. Wharton closed on the last selection of the night as one rising junior picked into a quad with three rising sophomores.

In a change from previous years, students were able to take spots on the A wait list while singles remained available in ML basement. The wait list started last night at 685 out of 789, although nearly half of the ML basement singles were still selected. Roughly 20 individuals are currently on the wait list.

The rising sophomore class is expected to have a more substantial waiting list, but it is not clear precisely how large it will be at this point. About 30% of the rising sophomore class has already selected rooms, primarily by blocking.

One double remains in Dana, and two remain in each of Mertz and Woolman. ML, PPR, Hallowell, Strath Haven, and Willets all have a significant selection of rooms still available. A number of larger housing units, including two lodges which usually go as blocks, also remain available for the rising sophomore lottery on Wednesday.
